JANE RAYNER
Flautist
Jane Rayner, a graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, has performed extensively in solo, chamber and orchestral settings, as well as flute and guitar duos.
Having been raised in Central West New South Wales, Jane possesses an affinity for the Australian landscape. She performs regularly in flute and string ensembles and has served as Principal Flute in the Murray Conservatorium Chamber Orchestra and the Waverley Philharmonic Orchestra.
In 2004, Jane was invited by Colin Brumby to record his work Gardens of the Villa Taranto, the title track of his CD, with guitarist, Peter Lynch. Jane and Peter's performances have since been broadcast nationally in Australia on ABC Classic FM and live on ABC Radio National.
Jane, whose teachers have included Paul Curtis and Suzy Powell, has herself achieved considerable success as a teacher having taught flute extensively at Murray Conservatorium in Albury and at numerous schools to all ages and at all levels, from 5 year olds to seniors, beginners to Diploma level. She enjoys the balance of performance and teaching.
